MassBroadband 123 is a fiber-optic middle mile broadband network, with approximately 1,200 miles of fiber-optic network connecting 123 communties in western and north central Massachusetts The network, operated by Axia NGNetworks USA (Axia), was designed and built and is owned by MBI. The network covers more than one-third of the geographic area of Massachusetts, which has more than 400,000 households and businesses and more than one million residents.

Axia provides wholesale service to local retail Internet Service Providers (ISP) that offer broadband services to public safety entities, schools, libraries, medical facilities, town halls, and other Community Anchor Institutions (CAI) already connected to the network. The ISPs may also building new extensions off of the network to connect additional CAIs and businesses in the region.
