BTOP Q1-2012 Summary of Activities

January 1 - March 31, 2012

  1. Executed 5 of 22 Points of Interconnection agreements 
  2. Executed agreement for several miles of fiber overlash construction in Richmond, MA 
  3. Executed attachment agreement for Massachusetts Development Finance Agency and negotiated Indefeasible Rights of Use agreements for four municipal towns
  4. Submitted applications for 6,200 poles and 7 miles of conduit, for a total of over 35,600 poles and 35 miles of conduit
  5. Received cost estimates on 12,000 poles for Verizon and 19,800 poles for electric companies, for totals to date of 25,800 from Verizon and 20,500 from electric companies
  6. Received 2,082 pole licenses for Verizon for a total of 2,469 licenses and 1,655 for the electric utilities for a total of 2085 licenses. 48 miles have been released to construction
  7. Received district wide permits from Department of Transportation 
  8. Completed site surveys of 205 Community Anchor Institution locations to total 837 to date. Completed designs for 319 Community Anchor Institution locations for a total of 415 to date and completed 82 site installations
  9. Completed surveys on all 23 Points of Interconnect. Completed designs on 8 sites to date
  10. Completed final strand count cable design for all project phases
  11. Completed construction drawings for 3 segments to total 7 for the project to date 
  12. Installed 25 miles of strand and 8 miles of fiber in licensed project areas 
  13. Obtained infrastructure components (inside plant parts, fiber, optical network equipment, termination panels, and power plant.
  14. Approved prototype test lab for proof-of-design and testing
  15. Executed 11 Letters of Intent with Internet Service Providers, for a total of 20 to date
  16. Executed 2 Connecting Agreements with Internet Service Provider
